The Missouri Department of Transportation announced Jan. 13 that plans to remove Interstate 229 double-decker bridge in St. Joseph can commence, according to News-Press Now. An environmental assessment for the replacement found no significant impact. MoDOT and developers can now move forward with designs for the $70 to $80 million project,m to replace the bridge with a new four-lane arterial road.
