  • Burlington Jct. approves new playground equipment purchase

    The Burlington Junction City Council  approved the purchase of new playground equipment for Volunteer Park at a meeting earlier this month, according to the Nodaway Newsleader. The equipment will cost a total of $1,849 and replacing a spring rider will cost $880. The city also needs to replace a total of 26 lights at the ballfields.

  • Evergy plans for plant in Missouri

    Evergy plans to construct a 440 MW natural gas power plant south of Maryville, according to a report from the Maryville Forum. The company plans for construction to begin construction in late 2026 or early 2027 and be operational by January 2030.
